Walnut Boardroom Table

This walnut Boardroom table has been part of the inventory of an old Bedford based electrical component company since the early 1970's. Despite its age and regular use it was in remarkably good condition, having sustained very few scratches or gouges to the walnut veneered top. However, the original finish had been varnished over a few times and was beginning to take on the "toffee apple" look that is typical of such pieces. The remit was to re-finish the top in its natural colour to allow the figured walnut veneer to show through and to apply a durable surface coating. The top was completely stripped and then sanded back and re-finished with a matt 10% sheen, severe use, water-based lacquer. Due to the size of the table, all work was carried out on site.
