Oak long case clock

This oak long case arrived at out Bushey workshop in a very bad state. The whole case required re-building and extensive repairs all round. The original scroll pediment had been cut down at some point to allow the clock the fit into a room with a lower ceiling. The client wished to retain the clock at the same height so a new front section cornice was made to match the original returns. The whole clock case was rebuilt and all repairs made good. it was then french polished, retaining as much of the original patina and inherent character as possible.
